Program Areas

Government Advocacy
We advocate at the national level and equip and activate the food bank network for advocacy at local and provincial levels.

Public Engagement
Our work raises public awareness and mobilizes individual and community action.
Program Initiatives
Our various initiatives within our programs are designed to positively influence public perception of food banks and inform policy decisions. These include:

Poverty Report Cards
A snapshot of how all provinces and territories are doing when it comes to easing the root causes of food insecurity.

HungerCount
The most complete, census-type snapshot of food bank usage in Canada. HungerCount helps look past societal stigmas to understand the root causes of hunger.

Food Insecurity Summit
This one-day event brings together leaders, experts and change makers in the Canadian food insecurity sector.

Poverty Vulnerability Map
Poverty can be hard to see, which makes it harder to address. Our interactive map gives insight into the geography of poverty and the factors behind it.
