Gift of Securities

Gift of Securities

When donors choose to give through gifts of securities, they’re not only making a smart financial decision — they’re amplifying their impact. These gifts allow us at Food Banks Canada to stretch every dollar further, reaching more families and communities with the nourishment and dignity they deserve. It’s generosity with strategy — and we are profoundly grateful for the trust and generosity that fuels our mission.

How does it work?

A gift of securities is a cost-effective way to convert your assets into immediate and meaningful support for Food Banks Canada. By donating your publicly traded securities directly to Food Banks Canada you can avoid tax on the capital gains, and it allows you to donate the full value to help ensure that no one goes hungry today. You will be able to make a larger gift for less and may be able to use the resulting charitable tax credit to offset other income.

The process is straightforward, and we’ve outlined the steps below to assist you with the transfer process. When the transfer is complete, we will be in touch to provide you with your charitable tax receipt.
